Will you give young people facing homelessness the hope of a brighter future?

Every four minutes, a young person in the UK faces the terrifying prospect of homelessness.

Tonight thousands of young people will sleep rough or in unsafe places — frightened, alone, and at risk of violence and exploitation. It is a reality no young person should ever have to fear.

Behind each statistic is a story — of fear, loss, and uncertainty. But there is also the possibility of hope.

you can help turn fear into hope for a young person

Our Nightstop service is an emergency accommodation network that relies on trained and vetted volunteers from communities across the country. These hosts open their homes — and their hearts — to young people in crisis, offering a safe bed for the night, and a lifeline of hope.

st vincent depaul’s teachings inspire us

Our work is grounded in the teachings of 17th-century Catholic reformer St Vincent de Paul. His vision — rooted in compassion, dignity, and bold faith in action — inspires us to help young people move out of homelessness and towards a brighter, more secure future.

This means we not only respond to homelessness — we work to prevent it.

Family breakdown is the leading cause of youth homelessness. So we work in schools to raise awareness of the risks, train professionals to recognise early signs, and provide family mediation to help keep families together.

For those who cannot safely return home, our longer-term supported accommodation offers holistic care — from mental health support and trauma recovery to education, training, and employment opportunities. Each step is designed to help young people rebuild their confidence and live independently as part of their community.

how you can support

Our work with young people is only possible with the help of generous supporters. Donations help us to:

  • Prevent homelessness before it starts — by providing shelter and support in a crisis, rebuilding family relationships, and teaching children about the risks and where to turn for help.
  • Support young people experiencing homelessness — through expert housing advice, safe accommodation, and programmes that develop life-skills, resilience, and a clear path to independence.

Thank you for turning the fear of homelessness into hope for a brighter future for young people.
